At NearCrush, your privacy is fundamental to everything we build. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and related services. Please read it carefully.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, such as when you create an account, update your profile, or contact us for support.

Account Information: Name, email address, date of birth, and password when you register.

Usage Data: Information about how you use NearCrush, including features accessed, content viewed, and interactions with other users.

Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve NearCrush services
  • Match you with nearby users based on proximity and shared interests
  • Send you notifications, updates, and promotional communications (with your consent)

3. Location Data

Location is central to NearCrush's functionality. We use your location to:

We never share your exact location with other users. Other users only see your approximate distance (e.g., "0.5 km away"). You can enable or disable location access at any time in your device settings, though this will affect core app functionality.

4. Information Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.

We may share your information with:

Service Providers: Third-party vendors who assist in operating our platform (hosting, analytics, customer support). These parties are bound by confidentiality obligations.

Legal Requirements: If required by law, court order, or governmental authority.

Safety: When we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the safety of any person or to address fraud or security issues.

Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, with notice to you.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including:

  • End-to-end encryption for all messages
  • TLS encryption for data in transit
  • AES-256 encryption for data at rest
  • Regular security audits and penetration testing
  • SOC2 Type II certification

While we take extensive precautions, no security system is impenetrable. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to contact us immediately if you suspect unauthorized account access.

6. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Portability: Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Objection: Object to certain processing of your personal data
  • Withdrawal: Withdraw consent for location or notification permissions at any time

To exercise these rights, contact us at [email protected] or visit the Delete Account page in the app.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

Chat messages are retained for 90 days after both parties have deleted them, then permanently removed.
